Eyewitness reports prove legendary 'What I saw definitely creatures live all over the country ⚫THIS BIGFOOT photographed in California is typical of the creatures seen all over U.S. A RASH OF Bigfoot sightings in Ohio is further proof that the legendary creatures are alive and well and living in wilderness areas all over the country. "I've had physical encounters with them," says re- nowned researcher Robert W. Morgan, author of The Big- foot Pocket Manual: All You Ever Wanted to Know About Bigfoot But Didn't Know Who to Ask (Daring Publishing Group). Morgan vividly recalls his first meeting with Bigfoot 35 years ago while hunting in the state of Washington. Territorial display "I came across something in the bushes." he says. "It turned back and looked at me. It looked like a tall. hairy man about 7 feet tall. It had fingers and toes just like us and was biackish- brown with a reddish tint. "When you see them, they usually break deadwood off the trees and smack it against the trees. This is a territorial dis- play Morgan who also wrote The Ulumate Legend Quest: The Se- crets of Bigfoot as known to the STORY by MANNY SILVER Native American Indian (Dar- ing says Bigfoot has been fa- miliar to native American tribes. including the Delaware. Sene- cas and Apaches for many years. Some tribes call Bigfoot Yamprico." meaning lost or wild people. "The Indian people have known about Bigfoot for quite some period of time." he says. "They don't make this infor- mation available to white peo- pie because they saw what we did to the carrier pigeon and buf- falo. Some Indians have com- mitted suicide or suffered se- vere emotional breakdowns over the past 10 years since en- countering Bigfoot. ⚫ MORGAN (right) & Dr. Grover Krantz inspect area of Bigfoot tracks was Bigfoot,' says farmer Ron Brunner "They consider it bad luck to encounter Bigfoot -to have eve- to-eye contact or to talk about it to a white man. But Morgan, a former com- puter specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration who happens to be part Apache, says hes met Bigfoot several times Tracked Bigfoot After his first Bigfoot en- counter. he savs. he wanted to go back in the woods "to find out what the hell I had seen. He observed Bigfoot twice again in the Wasnington wil- derness in 1972 and 1974 - and has since dedicated his life to learning more about the mvs- terious creatures and saving them from extinction Morgan has tracked Bigfoot all over the U.S. and is cur- rentiy keeping tabs on the sny hairy beasts living in Ohio where there have been numer- ous Bigfoot sightings in a tri- angular area formed by the cit- ies of Ashtabula, Coshocton, and Marietta. 9-foot-tall creature He estimates there are 18 ligfoot living in Ohio and Buckeve State residents have verified his claims by providing 50 eyewitness reports. Ron Brunner, a farmer in Al- liance. Ohio, says he saw a 9- foot-tall creature in his fields last December. "My friends tell me I was in the silo drinking too much corn juice. he says. "But I was cold sober and what I saw definitely was Bigfoot. Barbara Bilinovich of nearby Barberton. Ohio says three "hu- mongous creatures chased her from the woods one night. According to Morgan. Bigfoot usually congregate in secluded wooded areas because they are trying to evade human beings. He says they also live in wood- ed areas of Washington. Ore- gon. California. Idaho and Mon- tana. Other experts such as Dr. Grover Krantz of Washington State University estimate there are as many as 2.500 Bigfoot in the United States. Morgan emphasizes that Big- foot is not a monster. "They're prehistoric people who've learned how to evade us." he says. "They probably stem from paranthropus. a prehistoric beast between inan and ape. Screams recorded "They walk erect, have but- tocks. fingers and a hallux. which is a big toe that is usual- ly reserved for nomo sapiens "I have recorded their scream exchanges. "They imitate wildlife and usually make unusual animal calls that are out of place. like nocturnal oriole calls in the day- time. Morgan has established a toll- free number to report sightings [AD] of Bigfoot: 800-445-6321. "We will put the reports in a com- puter bank," he says. FOREST RANGER'S INCREDIBLE ENCOUNTER IGFOOT DOES EXIST and new evidence proves it scientifically, claims a leading expert. Anthropologist Grover Krantz PAUL FREEMAN'S plaster casts reveal that Bigfoot weighs more than 400 pounds. of Washington State University makes the startling conclusion from actual footprints made by a Bigfoot. The prints were discovered after a U.S. Forest Service ranger stum- bled on one of the creatures in a for- est area in Washington State's Wal- la Walla region. Detailed plaster casts of the an- imal's massive footprints reveal they were made by a primate that's neither ape nor human. "These are the best set of prints ever made." says Dr. Krantz. What makes the evidence so con- vincing is the discovery of very tine skin patterns, similar to fin- gerprints, called dermal ridges. Says Dr. Krantz: These con- vince me the tracks come from a higher primate. And it isn't sup- posed to exist. so we have an in- teresting problem here!" Paul Freeman. a 39-year-old For- est Service ranger, encountered the animal on a clear morning in the Umatilla National Forest. He recalls: "I saw something sud- denly step onto the road. It was about 10 feet high and he saw me about the same time I saw him. "He looked like all the pictures I've seen of prehistoric man. He was real hairy a reddish-brown hair. The hair was so thick you couldn't see through it on his shoul- ders. arms and legs. But on his face and chest it was thin enough to see his skin. the color of brown leath- er." Freeman estimates the creature was approximately 65 yards away. "Even at that distance I could hear him breathing real heavy, and I could see the muscles in his stom- ach moving. Freeman, a wildlife expert, adds: "I was scared and started backing away a few feet. When he saw I wasn't coming any further. he turned and walked off." The ranger believes the Bigfoot weighed well over 400 pounds - an estimate later confirmed by the depths of its tracks. Freeman and other rangers re- turned to the scene with photo- graphic equipment and material to make plaster casts. Amazingly, they were able to document 21 medium- to full-size footprints from not just one crea- ture but TWO! Dr. Krantz confirms that the prints the largest 14 inches long and 7 inches wide were unlike human feet because they had no arch He says: "It would have had a stride of some 6 to 8 feet compared to 3 feet or an average man. And the anthropologist adds. "The most remarkable argument for the existence of Bigfoot is the dermai ndges. You can't fake evidence like that. BRISTOL PRESS Thursday, Oct. 10. 1991 Bigfoot in the Northwest For years now. I have been re- searching Sasquatch. And I believe it exists today. I have seen a lot of evi- dence to prove that Bigfoot is in the Pacific Northwest. I have taiked to a lot of researchers who, over the years, complied evidence. Roger Patterson. of Yakima, Wash., took a film of Bigfoot in 1968. So have many others. Are these films legit? How can they prove Bigfoot? There have been many reports of footprints in so many cases. Oregon and Washington seem to be the best regions for Sasquatch activity. Areas such as Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier seem to be good areas. I'm glad, too. that they passed a law about not shooting Bigfoot. There have been at least 500 sightings and 600 reports of tracks in California and the Pacific Northwest. His height is seven to 10 feet tall, and weight is 600 to 900 pounds. He has brown or black fur or hair, a gorilla- like face and smells like burning rub- ber. The footprints range from 16 inches to 21 inches long and six inches to nine inches wide. I think if Bigfoot ever gets captured. people should study him so that we can find out what kind of animai he really is. So reports of these creatures con- tinue. Maybe someday we will solve the Bigfoot mystery. We will know what other unexplained animals live in our world.
